FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be misleading.
Running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, the NM team identified a YouTube video on a verified channel — Hyderabad Festivals, dated April 22, 2024. The video starting at 1:20 matches with the viral clip, and given that the video was published in April, it predates the election results of the Lok Sabha elections, which came out on June 4, 2024.
According to a news article in The Print, dated April 20, 2024, the clip is from April 19, 2024, when Madhavi was walking in different areas of Hyderabad for the election campaign. During this time, a Muslim law student, Mir Mukaram Sultan, who was passing by, stopped Madhavi and started questioning her.
Given that the video was shot in April 2024, it is confirmed that it is not related to the election results. Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming BJP leader Madhavi Latha started praising Muslims after her defeat in the elections, is misleading.
