FACT CHECK
Newsmobile fact-checked the claim, and found it to be digitally altered.
Conducting a Reverse Image Search of the viral photo using Google Lens, which enabled us to isolate Epstein and search for just his part of the image. The NM team identified a website selling Epstein’s photo, identifying the individual with him as Pepe Fanjul, a member of “the billionaire sugar industry family that left Cuba”.
With relevant keywords, we found a Vanity Fair article about Epstein’s will, reportedly signed two days before his death. The article features the same photo of Epstein and Fanjul, noting it was taken during a film release in 2005.
Searching further, our team found the original image on The Friedlander Group’s website, containing photos of its CEO, Ezra Friedlander, with several world leaders, including then-US Senator Joe Biden.
Therefore, the viral image depicting Jeffrey Epstein with US President Joe Biden is doctored.
