FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the post, and found it to be false.

With a keyword search, the NM team identified a post on X account of Dhruv Rathee (Parody), dated June 18, 2024, which matches with the viral post contents.

The account’s bio mentions: “This is a fan and parody account and is not affiliated with the official Dhruv Rathee account. It does not impersonate anyone. This account is for parody purposes.” Created in October 2014, it has amassed 43.4K followers. Despite using similar cover images and posting political content like the original Dhruv Rathee account, the bio explicitly states it is not the authentic account.

Furthermore, we examined Dhruv Rathee’s official account, which boasts 2.6 million followers. There was no such post shared by the official account. Dhruv Rathee’s most recent post, dated June 18, highlighted concerns such as railway accidents, paper leaks, exam scams, and violence in Manipur.

Therefore, based on our investigation, we confirm that the message attributed to Dhruv Rathee regarding Eid celebrations originates from a parody account and not his official one.
