FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be false.

Performing a Reverse Image Search of the viral video keyframes, the NM team traced a report by Times Now News, dated April 17, 2023, carrying the same viral clip with a headline: “Karnataka Highway Leopard Sighting Forces Panicked Bike Riders To Turn Around.”

The same video was shared by Scroll on April 17, 2023, suggesting that the video is from Binkadakatti village in the Gadag district of Karnataka.

In a report by The Indian Express, dated April 19, 2023, Deputy Conservator of Forest (territorial) Dipika Bajpai clarified that the one spotted on the Binkadakatti highway was a wild one that must have come from nearby forests.

Therefore, we can conclusively say that it is a 2023 video from Karnataka, NOT Uttar Pradesh.
