FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.
Running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, the NM team identified a YouTube video on an unverified channel, dated June 25, 2024, with a caption: A bridge collapsed in Bihar. Here we can see an Instagram profile watermark in the video as well.
Checking the Instagram profile in the YouTube video, it was found that an account, named @Ravibhatt_ayodhya — a freelance journalist from Ayodhya, carried the viral clip, dated June 27, 2024, with a caption: A 12-crore bridge in Bihar collapsed.
Another YouTube video on the official channel of The Economic Times, dated June 18, 2024, confirms that a ₹12-crore bridge on the Bakra river in Araria, Bihar, collapsed. Three pillars of the Padariya bridge were swept away. The locals alleged that the incident took place due to the negligence of the department and contractor.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming a bridge collapsed in Ayodhya due to poor maintenance, is false.
