FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the claim, and found the viral clip digitally manipulated by using voice cloning. In the original version of the video, Owaisi is seen saying, “Modi will not come to power for the third time.”

Running the viral video keyframes through a Reverse Image Search, the NM team found the original version on the official X account of ANI Hindi News, dated May 25, 2024, with a caption: “Patna, Bihar: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said: … We hope that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not become Prime Minister for the third time.’ On Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement on Muslim reservation, he said: He (Amit Shah) will end reservation for everyone; he will even end the Constitution.”

In the original video, Owaisi explicitly stated, “We are hoping and trying our best that Narendra Modi does not become the prime minister of this country for the third time. Now let’s see what the country decides.”

Moreover, we discovered similar video reports on Amar Ujala, Zee Business, and Mirror Now, dated May 25, 2024, corroborating Owaisi’s actual statement in the original video.

Given below is comparison between the viral and original statements on the TV Today News YouTube channel, providing additional clarity on the matter.

Hence, it is evident that the viral clip on AIMIM chief Owaisi is digitally manipulated.
