Sharing the video, many users claim it depicts the Heeramandi actor’s look on her wedding day. Sinha took to social media to announce her marriage to fellow actor Zaheer Iqbal and shared glimpses of the event.
The Facebook post reads: “Excited to share a glimpse of the stunning Sonakshi Sinha in her gorgeous black joda on her wedding day!”

Another Facebook user shared a screengrab from the video, along with an image of a burqa-clad woman, claiming, “Sonakshi Sinha wore black lehenga in her wedding. She is preparing well for the future.”
FACT CHECK
Newsmobile fact-checked the claim, and found it to be false.
Searching with relevant keywords like “Sonakshi Sinha”, “black lehenga”, the NM team noticed a Hindustan Times article, dated May 6, 2024. The report features images of Sonakshi in the same black outfit, stating, “Sonakshi Sinha was the showstopper for designer Vikram Phadnis, wearing a regal black lehenga at an event last night in Mumbai.”
Additionally, we did a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes which led us to the viral video that was uploaded on Fever FM’s official YouTube channel on May 6, 2024, with a title: “#sonakshisinha look for the ramp.”
Sonakshi Sinha herself shared several images from the event on her Instagram handle in May 2024.
Thus, it is confirmed that an old video of actor Sonakshi Sinha in a black lehenga has been circulated with false claims.
