New Delhi: Following India’s World Cup triumph, a young squad led by Shubman Gill is set to embark on a T20I series against Zimbabwe. Although many players on this team have yet to make their international debuts, they have gained recognition through their impressive performances in the IPL over the years.
Among the promising newcomers is Riyan Parag, who made a significant impact in the IPL by finishing as the third-highest run-getter with 573 runs in 16 matches, including four half-centuries. Parag, in his excitement over travelling with the Indian team for the first time, misplaced his passport and two phones at the airport.
In a video shared by BCCI Parag said, “So excited that I’ve forgotten my passport. I’ve forgotten my phone. I’ve not forgotten, I’ve misplaced them. But I have it now.”
Sharing his excitement further, the Assam all-rounder said, “Ever since I was a kid, it was a dream to travel like this. Though we play matches, but traveling, wearing Indian clothes, is a dream. It is a new team, almost, a lot of new and old faces. Ever since I was a kid, I dreamt of it. There will be a special connection with Zimbabwe,” said Parag.
