India Will Not Forget For Centuries: PM Modi Slams Rahul Gandhi Over Hinduism Remarks In Lok Sabha

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a dig at Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi over his remarks during his response to the Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address, which caused a significant uproar in the Lok Sabha on Monday.

Addressing the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, in his reply to the Motion of Thanks, PM Modi confronted Gandhi over his controversial ‘Hindu’ remark. The Prime Minister stated that such an “insult” to Hindus would not be forgotten for centuries.

Hitting out at Rahul Gandhi for his remarks PM Modi sais, “It’s serious matter that conspiracy being hatched to level false allegations against Hindus. It was said that Hindus are violent. Are these your values? This country will not forget it for centuries. A few day ago, it was announced to finish shakti in Hindus. This country has been praying shakti for centuries. They coined the Hindu terrorism word. Their ally compared the Hindu religion with dengue and malaria and they clapped. This country will never forgive them. This is according to a well-planned strategy are bent upon insulting Hindus and their traditions. They have made it a fashion and are doing it for their political benefits.”

Taking a dig at the Congress party PM Modi stated, “The Congress party is openly creating new narratives and spreading new plans every day to put one caste against another…It was clearly announced from various platforms that if the result they want is not achieved, the country will be set on fire on 4th June. People will gather, anarchy will be spread and these appeals were made in large numbers. Spreading anarchy is their aim…”

Earlier on Monday, Gandhi’s remarks during the Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address created significant uproar in the Lok Sabha.

Addressing the lower house the Congress MP said, ” “All our great men have spoken about non-violence and finishing fear…But, those who call themselves Hindu only talk about violence, hatred, untruth…Aap Hindu ho hi nahi. (you are not Hindu)”

The remark triggered a significant uproar in the House, prompting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene, stating, “Calling the entire Hindu community violent is a very serious charge.” In response, Gandhi replied saying, ” Modi, BJP, RSS not the entire Hindu community.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah responding to Gandhi’s remark in Lok Sabha said, “The Leader of Opposition has categorically said that those who call themselves Hindu talk of violence and do violence. He doesn’t know that crores of people proudly call themselves Hindu. Connecting violence with any religion is wrong. He should apologise.”

During his address, Gandhi targeted the BJP-led NDA government and alleged there has been a attack on the idea of India.

Gandhi said, “There has been a systematic and a full-scale assault on the idea of India, the Constitution and on the people who resisted the attack on the Constitution. Many of us were personally attacked. Some of the leaders are still in jail. Anyone who resisted the idea of concentration of power and wealth, aggression on poor and Dalits and minorities was crushed.”
