Hathras: At least 121 people have been killed and multiple injured in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras after a stampede broke out during a ‘Satsang’ event on Tuesday.

- Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath affirmed that the state government is committed to uncovering the truth behind the Hathras incident. The Chief Minister further said that to ensure a thorough investigation, a team has been formed under the chairmanship of Additional DG Agra, tasked with providing a detailed report.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased in the mishap in Hathras. The injured will be given Rs. 50,000 financial aid.

- Hathras DM Ashish Kumar said that the district administration is actively investigating the incident, “District administration is investigating the matter. The injured are being taken to the hospital and people are still being recovered. A figure of nearly 50-60 deaths has been reported to me by the doctors.”

- “There are reports of many people dying in the stampede in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. I express my condolences to those who lost their lives in this accident. - Paying condolence to the deceased the Union Minister Rajnath Singh labelled the accident as “extremely painful.”
- “The accident that happened in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh is extremely painful. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families of those who have lost their loved ones in this accident,” Singh said.

- The stampede occurred during a religious event for Lord Shiva in Ratibhanpur. As the event came to a close a stampede occurred which injured many people including women and children. The injured have been taken to Etah Medical College, where they are being treated.
