New Delhi: It’s an all-out war between low airfare carriers. A day after Spice Jet offered up to 75% off on base fare and fuel surcharge relative to last minute fares, Go Air has slashed the fares by 70%, and Jet Airways (India) Ltd, a matching fare discount on bookings made on three days starting Tuesday.
“The travel validity for the offer is between March 27 and September 30,†said Jet Airways circular.
It is interesting to note that the travel validity of discounted prices offered by other airlines is between 1 April and 30 June.
This is the third time in the year that Spice Jet has given discounts under its advance purchase offer. “Under this offer, customers can get up to 75% discount on base fare plus fuel surcharge relative to last minute bookings (i.e. bookings that are made within seven days of travel).â€
IndiGo, India’s largest largest low fare airline, also joined fare war with flights starting at Rs.1,867. The airline, which is operated by InterGlobe Aviation Ltd, announced rates for select sectors including Mumbai-Delhi (Rs.3,410), Mumbai-Goa (Rs.2,078), Bangalore-Hyderabad (Rs.1,943) and Ahmedabad-Mumbai (Rs.1,867).
