New Delhi: Adan Canto, popularly known for his role in ‘X-Men: Days of the Future Past,’ died at 42 after battling appendiceal cancer.
The actor, known for his work in ‘The Cleaning Lady’ and ‘X-Men,’ battled cancer privately, reports stated. In ‘The Cleaning Lady,’ Canto played Arman Morales, a gangster, and the second season concluded with his character incarcerated. Season 3, currently in production, is set to premiere on March 5.
Survived by his wife, Stephanie Ann Canto, and two children, Roman Alder and Eve Josephine, Canto made his American acting debut in the Fox series ‘The Following’ in 2013. His diverse roles included ‘Mixology,’ ‘Narcos,’ ‘Blood and Oil,’ and ‘Second Chance.’ Additionally, he played the superhero Sunspot in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ in 2014.
Joining Fox’s ‘Designated Survivor’ in 2016, Canto portrayed Vice President Aaron Shore. Apart from acting, he directed two short films, ‘Before Tomorrow’ in 2014 and ‘The Shot’ in 2020. His film credits include ‘Amanda and Jack Go Glamping,’ ‘2 Hearts,’ ‘Bruised,’ ‘The Devil Below,’ and ‘Agent Game.’
