Vidya Balan brand ambassador of Samajwadi Pension Yojana

Lucknow Sep 9 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh government todaynamed Bollywood actress Vidya Balan as brand ambassador of theambitious Samajwadi Pension Yojana. "We are grateful of Vidya Balan for getting associatedwith the biggest scheme of UP, the Samajwadi Pension Scheme,"Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said at an event here.. The actor who had earlier been associated withthe "ghar-ghar shauchalya" campaign of the union governmentwill be seen campaigning about the scheme in the comingmonths. "I am very happy as the money meant to be given in thisscheme will go directly into the bank accounts of thebeneficiaries and money is power. About 50 per cent populationcomprise of women who have been left far behind and are nowtaking small steps forward", Balan, who was also present atthe event, said. "This scheme will have a direct impact on the lives ofpeople.. though I have not contributed anything into it I amhappy to be the face of it," she said. Akhilesh has launched the scheme with an aim to provideRs 500 per month to poor women and cover at least 50 lakhbeneficiaries in the state. PTI SAB FAR ZMNAQS
