UP CM Yogi Adityanath didn’t say ‘our job is to save cows, not women’

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh came under the limelight as a picture of a newspaper clipping is making rounds on social media social media which read:

“योगी आदित्यनाथ का फिर गैर जिम्मेदाराना बयान, कहा हमारा काम गाय बचाना है, लड़की नहीं”

(Translation: Another irresponsible quote from Yogi Adityanath, said our job is to save cows, not girls.”)

The picture of the clipping gained momentum after it was tweeted by filmmaker Avinash Das.

In the caption, he wrote: “बोलो, इस आदमी को जूते पड़ने चाहिए या नहीं?”

Das is the writer and director of Anaarkali Of Aarah. His tweet was retweeted by over 1,500 people.

Several other users shared the statement on social media and its been making rounds since April 2018.

The above statement attributed to Adityanath was originated by Rumour Times- which use to be a rumour and satire website.
