Every year this period of time is crucial for the students who are striving to get the right foothold in a good University or College. This is the time of admissions and parents go weary after their child’s suitable institution.

We bring to you some important details of Universities that might help you chose the best for your child.

Delhi University

Delhi University’s undergraduate admission process is likely to start in the third week of April, a month ahead of the regular schedule in order to stop last-minute rush at top colleges.

The online registration form for the undergraduate courses may become available between April 20-25. Although the application process starts a month early, it will last until June like always.

 1. Delhi University application process is conducted completely online now and students don’t need to queue up at the university or colleges to procure application forms.
2. The application fee for DU admission form can also be submitted online, hence no hassling for demand draft at an SBI branch.
3. The cutoff will be released separately for Arts and Humanities courses and Science courses.
4. Best four – most of the colleges consider marks scored in best four subjects, that is any four subjects in which a student has scored maximum marks.
5. The University may conduct entrance exam for admission to B.Tech., B.El.Ed., BMS, BA (Honors) Economics, BBA (FIA) etc.
6. 5% seat in each course is reserved for ECA and Sports quota.
7. Each college conducts its own ECA and Sports trial. Stay updated about every college’s schedule of the trial.
8. Women students can also opt for admission to Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB), DU which conducts weekend classes for women students at various study centres.
9. NCWEB, DU offers two UG courses – BA (Programme) and B.Com.
10. Students who wish to study in the distance mode can also opt for admission to School of Open Learning (SOL), DU.

Important Dates:

The online registration process will begin in April third week. There are some dates that are being considered. One of the dates suggested is April 20 but it could be anytime between April 20 and 25.

No entrance test

There will be no entrance test for any new undergraduate courses. The university was earlier planning to start entrance test for some courses like Economics and Commerce but the plan has not materialised. In 2016, the registration process started on June 2 and ended on June 19.

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Admission Notice 2017

The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh has released an admission notification inviting candidates to apply for admission to its various UG/PG Programmes. Interested eligible candidates to apply for admission to its various programmes offered under various specialisations for the academic session 2017.

The University conducts the entrance examination for several courses that include B.Sc. (Hons.), B.Com (Hons.), BA (Hons.), B.Tech, B.Arch, MBA, MBA (IB), PG Diploma in Islamic Banking & Finance, B.Ed, BA LLB, Diploma in Engineering, Senior Secondary School Certificate (Science Stream), Senior Secondary School Certificate (Humanities & Commerce Streams). The admission to the candidates is provided on the basis of his/her performance in the entrance examination
Admission into MBBS & BDS Course will be based on NEET Score 2017. For each course, the application fee is different

Mumbai University

For the Academic Session June 2017, Mumbai University will start its admission process by April and ends by May. Check the table 1.1 to get precise or tentative dates of the release of Mumbai University Application Form and Merit Lists.

Mumbai University has 711 affiliated colleges and six different faculties i.e Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Technology & Sports. It runs more than 600 courses including Certificate, Diploma, Graduation, Post-Graduation, PG Diploma and PhD programs.

However, the tentative dates this year will follow the footprints of 2016.

The University invites applications for various undergraduate courses for the academic year 2017-18. These courses are offered in the Faculty of Arts, Science, Commerce, Performing Arts and Fine Arts. The applications for the programmes are available on the University website and must be submitted by June 16th, 2017.

Private Universities

Amity University

Direct Admission Process: Student securing 80%+ agg. in Class XII (CBSE/ISC/State-Boards of 2016/2017) are exempted from the selection process. Selection will be only on the basis of Amity Application Form.

ST. Xavier’s Mumbai

Applications for admissions to the BMS and BMM courses are to be submitted online, and the admission process includes an Entrance Exam. Please look up the details on the Home Page of the College website. Online applications for these two courses are accepted from the 1st of May to the 30th of May of the concerned academic year.

The College has an ONLINE application system through a facility on its website.  This facility will be available from the last week of May. This site can be used for: FYBA / BSc / BCom / BMS / BMM / BSc (IT) / BVoc in Tourism & Software Development; and, the First Year Masters Courses including M.Sc in Botany, Biotechnology, Geology, Life Sciences and Microbiology, and MA in AIC and in Public Policy.

Admission to B.Com is through the College Office (Commerce Section), by filling up and submitting a form, and through an interview with the Vice Principal of the Commerce section or his representative.

The University of Mumbai has made it mandatory for all candidates seeking admission to the First year courses in the Degree Colleges to fill in the “Pre – Admission Online Registration Form” is available on (http://mum.digitaluniversity.ac).
