Tharoor asked 25 questions in Sunanda murder probe

New Delhi: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Delhi police posed 25 questions to former Congress Minister Shashi Tharoor  in connection with the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar  on Thursday for five long hours  for the on-going probe of the Sunanda Pushkar murder case. This is second time that police has questioned Tharoor after January 19.  The IPL connection also came up during questioning.

A source revealed to NewsMobile, SIT asked around 25 questions to Tharoor.  Sources told NewsMobile, “Police on Thursday summoned six more witnesses to appear before it for re-questioning including Sunanda’s son Shiv Menon, along with domestic worker Narain Singh, Bajrangi and two others, whose names were not revealed.”

A senior official requesting anonymity revealed that, SIT today cross-examined Tharoor and started from where it left on January 19.

Tharoor was quizzed about his relationship with his wife Sunanda and his statements were cross-examined with the statements of Menon, who was questioned earlier by the SIT on Febrauary 5, officer added.

The officer further revealed, SIT also questioned Tharoor about Sunanda and Menon’s last conversation just before her death.

The SIT was also keen to know that whether Sunanda had shared any important information regarding IPL transaction to Menon or not.

Police team also tried to find out the answers from Tharoor, whether the IPL controversy could lead to the murder of Pushkar.

Source further claimed that SIT’s questioning today revolved around the IPL angle that was highlighted by Sunanda’s friend including senior journalist Nalini Singh and senior UP politician Amar Singh.

SIT also asked questions related to Rs 75 crore transaction and equity owned in the Kochi Tuskers team which was later given up by Sunanda.

On Thursday morning questioning of Tharoor was conducted by DCP P S Kushwah and senior inspector Rajender Singh at SIT’s office in Vasant Vihar at around 11.30 am.
