Swara Bhaskar didn’t tweet this on Maulana slapping woman on live TV

A video went viral on social media in which a Maulana Ejaz Arshad Qasmi slapped a woman advocate Farah Faiz on live TV debate over triple talaq on Zee Hindustan.

An outrage was witnessed on the social media with celebrities condemning Maulana Ejaz Arshad Qasmi’s actions.

Meanwhile, a picture of a tweet by actress Swara Bhaskar started to surface on social media which read:

“This is what hate looks like. The wise and always open to dialogue a Muslim Lawyer attacked by so called Maulana of Muslims. She is 60 years old. This is HEARTBREAKING. Along with ALL the halala this too is on u @INCIndia.”

Interestingly, the picture has Swara Bhaskar’s verified twitter handle with the BLUE tick.

FACT CHECK

When the screengrab of Bhaskar’s tweet went viral, the 30-year old actress took it to Twitter to verify that she didn’t post the above tweet.

Maulana Ejaz Arshad Qasmi who slapped a woman on Tuesday was later arrested from the Zee Media’s office after a complaint by the media house.
