State Government Grants Permission For Excavation Of Gold Reserve Discovered In Bihar

Jamui: The Nitish-led Bihar government has permitted the excavation of a recently discovered gold reserve in the Jamui district of Bihar.

According to the Geological Survey of India (GSI) estimates, more than 222.88 million tonnes of gold reserve and around 37.6 million tonnes of mineral-rich ore are present in the Jamui district of Bihar.

According to the Union Minister of Mines Pralhad Joshi, the recent developments indicate that it is the largest gold reserve in the country. The Union Minister had earlier said that 222.885 million tonnes of the gold reserve are hidden in Bihar which amounts to 44 percent of the total gold reserve in the country.

According to reports, the mines and geological departments are in talks with GSI and the National Mineral Development Corporation for excavating in the Jamui district.

The state government is likely to sign an MOU with the central government and carry out the mining within a month.
