Solar Eclipse 2021: Date, Time – Here’s All You Need To Know

Date:

The first solar eclipse of 2021 takes place on June 10. This celestial event comes a few days after sky gazers witnessed 2021’s lunar eclipse.

The annual solar eclipse will last for a total duration of 3 minutes and 51 seconds, according to NASA’s website.

The event starts at 01:42 PM (IST) and will continue till 6.41 pm IST. An annular eclipse is a partial eclipse, and only a part of the sun will appear to have a shadow over it. The eclipse is also one where a ‘ring of fire’ appears in the sky when the moon covers the sun.

According to NASA in many of the locations, the eclipse will occur before, during, and shortly after sunrise. However, Indians will not be able to witness this rare cosmic phenomenon as the eclipse will be visible from parts of the world.

Where is the Solar eclipse of June 10 visible?

Parts of Canada, Greenland, and northern Russia will experience the annular eclipse. In other parts of the world, people will only a dark shadow on part of the Sun’s surface, which is a partial eclipse. They will not get to see the ‘ring of fire’.

The areas where the partial eclipse will be visible are the eastern United States, northern Alaska, along with much of Canada and parts of the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, and northern Africa.
