Show cause notices to 37 newly inducted IAS officers

New Delhi, Sep 12 (PTI) As many as 37 newly inducted IASofficers were today issued show cause notices by the Centreand warned of action for missing an interactive session byNiti Aayog member Bibek Debroy recently. A total of 172 IAS officers of 2014 batch, posted asAssistant Secretaries, are working in various ministries hereas part of a new initiate by the Central government where theystart their career at the Centre first before going to theirrespective cadre states. The Centre is organising a series of programmes for themincluding those on the priority programmes like Direct BenefitTransfer (DBT) scheme. An interactive session with Debroy was organised onFriday in which all Assistant Secretaries were directed toparticipate. "And whereas you were found to be absent, inter alia,means you were on unauthorised absence during the aforesaidSession. "Therefore, you are advised to show cause in writingwithin three days, i.e. September 15, 2016 as to why you wereabsent and why action should not be initiated against you," asper orders issued by Department of Personnel and Training tothe 37 IAS officers. These 172 IAS officers are on three months tenure,beginning August 1, as the Assistant Secretaries. PTI AKVRG
