Mumbai: The 2023 edition of the International Emmy Awards’ World Television Festival is set to happen in New York, featuring notable Indian celebrities such as Vir Das and Shefali Shah. Both have received nominations in the comedy and Best Performance by an Actress categories, respectively. Additionally, Jim Sarbh has secured a nomination at the Emmys in the Best Performance by an Actor category.
The trio was spotted attending the opening cocktail night of the Emmy Awards 2023. They joyfully posed for photographs and engaged in a casual conversation. Furthermore, Shefali, Vir, and Jim were presented with gold passes and medals for the Emmys red carpet.
Shefali Shah earned a nomination for her powerful performance in Netflix’s ‘Delhi Crime Season 2,’ competing against nominees Connie Nielsen from Denmark, Billie Piper from the UK, and Karla Souza from Mexico. At the same time, Vir Das secured a nomination for his unique comedy special ‘Vir Das: Landing,’ streaming on Netflix. His competitors include Le Flambeau from France, El Encargado from Argentina, and Derry Girls Season 3 from the UK.
Jim Sarbh received a nomination for his performance in ‘Rocket Boys,’ and he will be contending with nominees Gustavo Bassani from Argentina, Martin Freeman from the UK, and Jonas Karlsson from Sweden.
The winners will be announced during the 51st International Emmy Awards gala in New York City on November 20, 2023.
The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced the nominations on September 26, featuring 56 nominees across 14 categories and representing 20 countries.
