Robin Uthappa Announces Retirement From All Formats Of Cricket

New Delhi: Indian Cricketer Robin Uthappa on Wednesday announced his retirement from all formats of cricket.

India’s power-packed batsman took to Twitter and added, “It has been my greatest honour to represent my country and my state, Karnataka. However, all good things must come to an end, and with a grateful heart, I have decided to retire from all forms of Indian cricket.”

Uthappa made his debut in ODI International cricket against England. He played 46 ODIs and scored a total of 934 runs in the format. Robin Uthappa is remembered for his special celebration after hitting the wicket during “bowl out” in the inaugural T20 World Cup game against Pakistan.

Uthappa played 205 IPL games, in which he scored 4952 runs at an outstanding strike-rate of 130.35, which includes 27 half-centuries. He represented Royal Challengers Bangalore, CSK, MI, and KKR during his successful IPL run.

He further thanked all the BCCI and state boards that he represented throughout his career. He also thanked his parents for helping him in pursuing the dream career of cricket.
