Rift in AAP widens as party leaders accuse seniors

Date:

New Delhi: The rift in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is widening with party leaders accusing senior leaders Yogendra Yadav, Prashant Bhushan and Shanti Bhushan of working towards party’s defeat in the recent Delhi Assembly elections.

“During Delhi elections, three senior AAP leaders – Yogendra Yadav, Shanti Bhushan and Prashant Bhushan – were working towards our defeat,” AAP said in a statement.

“Prashant Bhushan and Shanti Bhushan supported the claims made by AVAM against AAP. Yogendra Yadav was planting stories against Kejriwal and AAP in national dailies, was speaking against party off the record to journalists,” the party added.

AAP also claimed that Prashant told Ashish Khaitan that he was trying to get AAP’s seat tally reach 20-22, only then would the party leadership change.

“We have decided to expose Yadav and Bhushan to the entire world,” the statement added.

The statement also stated that, “Prashant Bhushan tried to stop people from donating money to AAP, threatened to hold a PC against party.”

AAP leader Ashutosh said, “It was decided in the NAC that no one will speak other then authorised speaker but Yogendra Yadav gave interview to some news channels which is clear violation and which led to some confusion that is why party decided to put facts forward.”
