Republic Media Network’s Arnab Goswami holds 82% equity; clarifies company

The Republic Media Network on Wednesday clarified several misleading reports that surfaced on Indian and International media outlets making false claims about the exact ownership of the network.

Republic TV said that at the time of the launch of the Channel, Arnab Goswami, the Editor-in-Chief of the Republic Media Network, through his personal investment and family structures completely controlled by him, had around 84% of shareholder equity through his promoter entity in ARG Outlier Media Pvt Ltd.

Arnab Goswami had raised capital for expansion through a small equity raise in February 2019 after the initial capital raise and since then holds over 82% of ARG Outlier Media Pvt Ltd

Also, his company of which he is the individual promoter owns 99% equity in the digital organisation that controls the digital assets of the network under the URL www.republicworld.com.

The present equity held by Goswami makes him one of the largest individual shareholders in the Indian news media landscape and he is also the first journalist to achieve this mark. Goswami’s all three legal and corporate entities have been registered in India.

The Editor-in-Chief of the Media Network is the only promoter and Chairman of the Board of the Republic Media Network (RMN).
