Mumbai: Days after the shocking demise of Bollywood’s noted art director Nitin Desai, police revealed that Desai had recorded several audio messages right before committing suicide.
As the probe continues, the audio clips have also been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for further probe, police said.
Without revealing any major details and names mentioned in the audio clips, the police said that Desai named certain people with whom he was really upset with. The course of whole investigation into the case might change after the FSL report of the audio clips are out, the police added.
Desai was found hanging by a rope in his studio in Maharashtra’s Raigad. Several reports suggest that Desai had been facing serious financial crisis since January 2020. ND’s Art World Pvt Ltd, a company owned by Desai had reportedly borrowed ₹185 crore through two loans from ECL Finance in 2016 and 2018.
A Look Back At Desai’s Extravagant Career
With a career span of 30 years, Nitin Desai was successful in creating magic on both big and small screens with his work. Desai was born in Mulund, Bombay, Maharashtra on 9th August, 1965. Desai was a famous Indian art director, production designer, and film and television producer.
He started his career as a fourth assistant for the period TV serial, Tamas (1987), directed by Govind Nihalani. His first feature film was Adhikari Brothers’ Bhookamp in 1993, but it was Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s period film, 1942: A Love Story in 1994 that caught everybody’s attention. After this there was no looking back for Desai. From movie Badshah to Raju Chacha, he did some really great work.
At the same time, Desai has been part of some big international projects as well. The names include, Salaam Bombay!, Amok (a French film directed by Joel Farges), Jungle Book, Kama Sutra, the Canadian film Such a Long Journey and Holy Smoke.
But if we talk about some of the record-breaking works by Desai, then Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999), Lagaan (2001), Devdas (2002), Jodhaa Akbar (2008) and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015) are always going to top the list.
