NIFT to design uniform for DDA employees

New Delhi, Sep 5 (PTI) Seeking a corporate imagemakeover, DDA has engaged National Institute of FashionTechnology to design uniform for its nearly 7,000 staff. Delhi Development Authority has been providing uniformfor its group-D employees, staff car drivers, gardeners,security guards and Peons and group-C and group-B front deskstaff. "Till now there was no uniformity in colour of theuniform for a particular category and the purchase was doneonly from government emporiums. "Now, in a bid to make a corporate image of the DelhiDevelopment Authority, it has been decided that theuniform/dress for the approximately 7,000 eligible staff mustbe of a reputed brand and contemporary style. And, uniformityin colour, design is also maintained for each category," DDAsaid in a statement today. The urban body said, National Institute of FashionTechnology (NIFT) has been engaged as consultant forsuggesting design, colour and cloth of the uniform. "Immediately after NIFT finalises the colour, design, andother details, tenders will be floated from open market i.e.directly from authorised dealers, mills, government emporiums,and other places," it said. Last year, DDA had redone sections of its officeinteriors in its bid to send out a corporate-style functioningimage to people. PTI KNDRG
