Muzaffarpur Mass Rape: Bihar CM defends himself, demands for CBI inquiry

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday broke his silence on the horrific mass-rape at a shelter home in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur.

In a move to defend himself, he said that ‘there are some elements creating such atmosphere’. He also demanded ‘a CBI inquiry under the supervision of High Court’.

“We want CBI inquiry under the supervision of the High Court judge. We need to fix the flaws in the system. All the culprits behind the incident must be punished. I want to assure that there are some elements creating such an atmosphere. We will not spare them”, Nitish Kumar said.

“I am in deep pain. I have empowered women in Bihar but this incident against women has pained me. We will ensure that the culprits are punished. No one will be spared whosoever. We will try to improve the system and make the people aware”, he added.

“It’s a sick mentality. We are ashamed over Muzaffarpur incident. There will be rule of law that we will follow. We will not compromise at any cost”, he assured.

Earlier, Following two massive investigative reports that brought to the fore the real goings on at the Muzaffarpur shelter home in Nitish Kumar-run Bihar, where, as per the police, 34 of 42 rescued girls had been either raped or molested.
