Muzaffarpur shelter rapes: 40 mobile phone numbers recovered from Brajesh Thakur

Bihar police on Saturday recovered a list of 40 mobile phone numbers and names from Brajesh Thakur, the main accused in the rape of 34 minor girls.

According to reports, the incident took place in the visitor’s area of the Muzaffarpur Central Jail where Thakur is lodged. Thakur was spotted with two hand-written notes.

According to the district administration officials, the list had names of some powerful people including a minister’s.

‘He has been staying in the medical ward of the jail on health grounds and managed to avoid staying in the prisoners’ ward,’ the police said. Thakur has been in Muzaffarpur Central Jail for only five days.

CBI on Saturday also detained Thakur’s son Rahul Anand after 10 hours of questioning. Rahul Anand was released thereafter.

The ongoing CBI investigation on the Muzaffarpur shelter rapes is being monitored by  Patna high court.
