Munir Khan appointed as new Inspector General of Police in Kashmir

Munir Khan has been appointed as new Inspector General (IG) of police, Kashmir range on Saturday replacing S.J.M. Gillani.

The state government appointed Gillani as Director of Vigilance.

According to the reports, Gilani has been removed from the post of IGP amidst the ongoing turmoil in the Valley.

Gilani, who is an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, 1994 batch, has been working as IG Kashmir range since March 15, 2015
