MoC to celebrate Mother’s canonisation with poorest of poor

Kolkata, Aug 19 (PTI) To celebrate Mother Teresa’scanonisation ceremony in Vatican on September 4, sisters ofMissionaries of Charity, which was founded by her willcelebrate the occasion with the poor for whom the nun workedall her life. "We will express our gratitude to God at a special mass.We will rejoice with the poor people with special food anddrinks … We want to continue with our dedication," SisterLysa, Assistant Superior General of the Missionaries ofCharity (MoC), told reporters here. She said it will be an unforgettable day for the sistersof the organisation which they will celebrate with the poorestof the poor. A group of around 40-50 nuns from different parts of thecountry will be present at the ceremony led by Missionaries ofCharity Superior General Sister Mary Prema, she said. Archbishop Thomas D’Souza said altogether 45 bishops fromall over India will be travelling to the Vatican. To mark the occasion a series of events will be held inthe city where the Mother lived and worked. The events include a film festival, installation of herstatue, a walk by faithfuls from Loreto Convent to MotherHouse, art exhibition, cultural programs and special masses.PTI NIK KKSRY
