Mallika Sherawat to bring ‘The Good Wife’ to India

Mallika Sherawat, the Bollywood actress is all set to bring the adaptation of the Hollywood series ‘The Good Wife’ in India. The series is typically a legal and political drama.

The show will be produced and starred by Mallika Sherawat, who was earlier seen in ‘Murder’ playing the character of Alicia Florrick. The rest of the crew and cast is still in the process of finalization.

Mallika said, “I’m really excited about bringing The Good Wife to India and thank CBS for putting their faith in me. I’m really excited about this opportunity. I love the show. It features a fierce and beautifully written female character with enough contradiction, emotional range, and surprise. The show’s brilliant storyline & pioneering female role made me want to do it in India.”

The thriller ‘The Good Wife’ that aired from 2009-16 received widespread appreciation from the viewers for its crisp narrative, selection of characters, and the sizzling plot to keep the audience engaged and engrossed in the series.

The show features the journey of Alicia Florrick playing the housewife of Cook County State’s Attorney. She resumes to her practice as a lawyer after her husband’s involvement in sex and corruption scandals. The series primarily targets the social media and internet and its impact on politics, society, and law, have drawn attention, awards, acclaim, and praise.

Being the winner of awards such as Emmy five times and many more, ‘The Good Wife’ received a great fan following and since Mallika is known for her work in women’s rights, this is probably the right step towards the direction.
