Khanna remanded in judicial custody till Sept 21
Another accuse of #SheenaMurderMystery and former husband of Indrani Mukerjea, Sanjeev Khanna was remanded in judicial custody till September 21.
On Monday, Indrani and driver Shyam Rai were also sent on judicial custody till September 21.
DAY 14, MONDAY
Indrani is Sheena’s biological mother: Mumbai Police Chief
Mumbai Police commissioner Rakesh Maria in a late night press briefing on Monday confirmed that body parts recovered from Raigad belonged to Sheena Bora.

“We are still questioning Peter Mukerjea and the financial dealings of Indrani is being investigated,” Maria added.
The commissioner went on to state that his team recovered the pair of shoes worn by the accused Sanjeev Khanna at the time of dumping Sheena’s body in Raigad.
“We are taking the help of auditors to investigate the financial dealings of the accused,” Maria said.
The Forensic Science Laboratory at Kalina has analyzed the samples of Indrani Mukerjea and skeletal remains found in Raigad district to conclude that the body was of Sheena Bora.
DNA sample from Raigad site matches Indrani’s blood samples
DNA samples from the dead body found in Raigad, suspected to be of Sheena Bora, matched Indrani Mukerjea’s blood samples, Mumbai police said on Monday.
Indrani was taken to Byculla jail in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, Sanjeev Khanna, one of the three accused, is being taken to Kolkata for further investigation. He was not produced in the court on Monday.

DAY 13, SUNDAY
Indrani taken to Worli home a day before custody ends
A day before her police custody ends, Indrani Mukerjea, the prime accused in the sensational Sheena Bora murder case, was on Sunday taken to her residence in Worli in Mumbai, apparently to connect a few “remaining dots” in the murder mystery marked by involvement of dramatis personae.
Indrani, mother of Sheena, was taken to Worli from Khar police station shortly before 4 pm while two others accused — her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and former driver Shayamvar Rai — were grilled at Khar police station.
Indrani was later brought back to Khar police station.
This was Indrani’s first visit to her residence since her arrest last month. Peter Mukerjea, who has been extensively grilled in the case, was also present at their residence.
During the over 60-minute quest, Indrani was taken to her fourth floor residence. She was also seen gesturing to the accompanying policemen in the direction of a garage in the residential premises, which, according to police is the place where Sheena’s body was kept on the day she was killed.
A local court had on Saturday extended police custody of all the three accused till Monday.
DAY 12, SATURDAY
Police custody of Indrani, accomplices extended till Sept7
Custody of Indrani Mukherjea, and her accomplices(ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and her driver Shyam Rai) was extended till September 7 by a magistrate’s court in Mumbai.
Forensic report proves skull from exhumed body is Sheena’s
The preliminary forensic report has brought in at least one key lead. The skull exhumed from Raigad has matched the facial features of Sheena Bora, according to a preliminary forensic report submitted by Nair Hospital to Mumbai police on Friday.
Attributing the finding to “digital facial superimposition technique”, the police said it is supported by photographic evidence.
The confidential report further said the victim’s height was between 153 and 160cm and the murder took place between 2009 and 2012. The age and timing of the murder fit Sheena’s case.
Police sources said Indrani Mukerjea has allegedly told investigators that after the murder she applied lipstick on Sheena and combed her hair to make her appear alive on the journey to Raigad.
All three accused to be produced in Bandra Court today
All three accused in the Sheena Bora murder case – Indrani Mukerjea, Sanjeev Khanna and Shyam Rai – will be produced in Bandra court for hearing on Saturday.
Mumbai Police is likely to seek an extension of their custody. So far, 12 days have been exhausted out of the permissible 14-days of police custody.
DAY 11, FRIDAY
Police recovers car used in Sheena’s murder
Mumbai Police recovered the hired car in which Sheena Bora was murdered and her body transported to be dumped in the Raigarh forest.
According to reports, the car was traced to an owner in Vashi, whose statement would be recorded soon.
Meanwhile, Indrani Mukerjea’s husband Peter Mukherjea was questioned yet again at the Khar police station on Friday.

Indrani Mukerjea’s daughter Vidhie Mukerjea’s statement will be recorded on Friday at the Khar police station.
No record of Rahul’s complaint with Worli PS
According to The Indian Express, after recording the statements of almost 15 policemen, the Mumbai Police has been unable to confirm Rahul Mukerjea’s claim that he lodged a missing person’s complaint at the Khar and Worli police stations after his girlfriend Sheena Bora went missing.
All three accused brought to Khar PS
According to Times Now, Peter Mukerjea, Sanjeev Khanna and Indrani Mukerjea have been brought to Khar police station. Peter Mukerjea will be questioned further for the third day in a row.
Indrani Mukerjea on Thursday, “admitted” to her role in killing Sheena inside a car. Other officials said her driver Shyam Rai has claimed she was helped by her former husband Sanjeev Khanna who, in turn, has passed the buck back to Mukerjea.
Under sustained interrogation by the Mumbai police on Thursday, during which cops told Peter Mukerjea about bank accounts and fixed deposits held by Indrani without his knowledge, Peter said it was unlikely their relationship would survive the ongoing upheaval.
Sources also said Indrani had been deeply worried about the future of her surviving daughter, Vidhie. Indrani got no assurance from Peter that he would stand by her, they added.
Sheena’s father Siddharth Das quizzed
Sheena Bora’s biological father Siddharth Das has been quizzed by Mumbai police and his statement recorded in connection with the murder case, police said on Friday.
Das reached Khar police station at around 8 pm on Thursday to join the investigation into the sensational crime committed three years ago and left at about 3 am on Friday morning, they said.
Das, who claimed to be Sheena’s biological father, was flown down to Mumbai from Kolkata on Thursday evening and is understood to have been brought face-to-face with the accused.

Indrani confesses to crime
Indrani Mukerjea, who, all these days, was changing her statement, on Thursday, confessed her crime.

Cops to quiz Peter Mukerjea again
Former Star India CEO Peter Mukerjea, husband of accused Indrani Mukerjea in the sensational Sheena Bora murder case, may be called for questioning again on Thursday.
He was quizzed by Mumbai Police for nearly 12 hours till late Wednesday night in connection with the case.
“Mukerjea is likely to be called again at the Khar Police Station today as we are trying to corroborate his statement with that of Indrani, with whom he co-founded INX Media,” a Mumbai Police official said.
Meanwhile, the Forensic Science Laboratory at Mumbai’s Kalina has started the process of analysing the samples of Indrani and skeletal remains found in Raigad district to match the DNA and determine if the body was that of Sheena.

Meanwhile, Mumbai police also seized Sanjeev Khanna’s laptop, mobile phone and other documents from Kolkata.

According to reports, the police seized the laptop along with a pen drive to monitor the email trail that was exchanged between Indrani and Khanna. Some bank documents were also seized to monitor the money trail, giving a financial angle to the case.

Sheena Bora is alive and in US, claims Indrani
Indrani Mukerjea, who is accused of killing her daughter Sheena Bora, has allegedly claimed during her interrogation that the 24-year-old is in the US and is not coming forward because she hates her.
Police sources said Mukerjea has stuck to this assertion and has been “tough to crack.”
Mukerjea has insisted to the police that she hated her daughter, whom she introduced to the world as her sister, but did not kill her.
Indrani changes stands
Sources close to the investigation told TOI that Indrani Mukerjea has admitted to her role in the crime. However, she refused to admit that she had any plans to kill Mikhail.
Meanwhile, Mumbai police chief Rakesh Maria is reportedly upset over the fact that the media was tracking the people involved in the case before cops reached out to them.
Mikhail’s activities are also under suspicion. Circumstantial evidence suggests that while he received a Rs 15,000 allowance per month from Indrani, he might even have resorted to blackmailing, including the demand that his mother cough up Rs 20-25 crore which would go towards purchasing property in Bangalore.
Police trace vendor from whom Indrani, Shyam bought suitcases
Connecting the dots in the Sheena Bora murder case, police traced the street vendor in Central Mumbai from whom the prime accused Indrani Mukherjea and her driver Shyam Rai had allegedly purchased two suitcases, one of which was apparently used for disposing of the victim’s body in Raigad district in 2012.
The investigators took Rai to the Dadar area on Tuesday evening to crosscheck whether Indrani and him had indeed purchased the suitcases from the vendor in question, a police officer said.
He said the vendor identified Rai. The officer added that the vendor will now be made a witness in the case.
DAY 8, TUESDAY
‘Indrani should get most stringent punishment if guilty’
Siddharth Das, who claims to be the biological father of Sheena Bora, surfaced in the open on Tuesday demanding the “most stringent” punishment to Indrani Mukherjea if she was guilty of murder and promised to cooperate with the police.
“I don’t know whether she has committed the crime but if she (Indrani) has done it, I pray to God that she should be given the most stringent punishment,” Das, who claimed to have lived here since 1998, said.
Breaking his silence a week after the three-year old murder mystery came to light, he addressed a press conference, where he said that he did not flee to Bangladesh as reported.
“Why should I flee? I have no role. I have been staying in Kolkata since 1998,” he said.
On why did he not approach the police when he came to know about the murder of her daughter, he said, “Why should I approach the police? Indrani was caught and she had confessed to the crime. The police did not contact me. If the police want me to cooperate, I am ready to cooperate. I am ready for DNA test also”.
Das also requested the media to let him live a normal life, saying, “Please spare my wife and son. I could not sleep in the past few days.”
Mumbai Police to visit Pen district in Raigad
Mumbai Police will be visiting the Pen district in Raigad to recreate the scene of crime and chart out the entire timeline of the crime. They are also likely to get the accused with them to Raigad.
At the same time, the then SP of Raigad is also being questioned to ascertain whether or not this was a cover-up.
Meanwhile, Indrani Mukerjea’s former partner, Siddhartha Das denied having informed the police about Sheena being missing. He also denied trying to flee to Bangladesh or being in hiding.
He also claimed to have no idea about Indrani’s marriage to Peter Mukerjea.
Meanwhile, inquiry into the alleged failure of Raigad Police to register an Accidental Death Report (ADR) after a burnt corpse, purportedly of Sheena Bora, was found in 2012, would consider all facets of the lapses by then police officials, Raigad Superintendent of Police Mohammed Suvez Haque said.
Siddhartha Das claimed that he spoke to Sheena Bora for the first time when she was in 10th standard and has never spoken to Mikhail, according to media interactions.
