The government on Friday appointed Krishnamurthy Subramanian as the new chief economic adviser, media reports said. Krishnamurthy Subramanian will have a tenure of three years with the government.
Subramanian teaches at Indian School of Business as the associate professor and executive director (Centre for Analytical Finance). He has a PhD from Chicago-Booth and is an expert in banking, corporate governance and economic policy, said his profile page on Indian School of Business’s website.

He replaces Arvind Subramanian, who resigned from the post 20 June this year.
