Kate Bush becomes first woman to have eight albums in top 40

Date:

London: Kate Bush has set a new album chart record by becoming the first woman to have eight albums in the charts at the same time.

The 56-year-old singer’s two albums are in the top 10 of the new chart, and eight albums overall in the top 40, the BBC reported.

Official Charts Company Chief Executive, Martin Talbot, said the Brit singer’s new live shows had created a huge stir, but for them to help push her catalogue to make such a significant sales impact was further evidence of the love that the British public had for Bush’s music, from generation to generation.

Elvis Presley and the Beatles are the only artists ahead of Bush who had 12 entries in the top 40 after his death in 1977 and The Beatles who had 11 in 2009.
