Indore Becomes Cleanest City For 6th Time In A Row, Surat, Navi Mumbai In Top Positions

New Delhi: The central government released the Annual Cleanliness Survey report on Saturday, declaring Indore the cleanest city for the 6th time in a row. Gujarat’s Surat secured second place while Vijayawada lost the third spot to Navi Mumbai.

According to reports, in the category of ‘best performing states in Swachh Survekshan Awards 2022, Madhya Pradesh bagged the top position followed by Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.

The report further added that Tripura has secured the top position in the category of states having less than 100 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).

Haridwar was judged as the city with the cleanest Ganga town in the category of more than 1 lakh population. The second and third spots were secured by Varanasi and Rishikesh.

The Swachh Survekshan is a study conducted by the central government to understand the progress of the Swachh Bharat Mission, ranking the Urban Local Bodies based on the parameters of cleanliness and sanitation.
