Indo-Pak border guards exchange Eid pleasantries at Zero line

Date:

Zero Line (Attari -Wagah border): Warm hugs, pleasantries and mesmerising Eid-Mubarak wishes were exchanged between the border guards of India and Pakistan at Zero line on Tuesday on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the culmination of the Islamic holy month of Ramzan.

Border Security Force (BSF) DIG M F Farooqui received sweets from Pakistani Rangers Wing Commander Mohammed Asher Khan at the Wagah – Attari land route border in India’s northern Punjab state.

DIG Farooqui said, “We have conveyed the greetings on this auspicious day of Eid to Pakistan rangers and we wish peace and tranquility on the border,” adding, “This was continuation of the tradition we reciprocate to each there and such gestures deliver the peace messages to each other.”

Both the border guards along with other personnel shared hugs three times while wishing Eid Mubarak to each other.

As a goodwill gesture, Indian and Pakistan border guards exchange greetings and sweets on certain occasions like Diwali, Eid, Republic and Independence days of both countries.

Officials of both India and Pakistan believe that this goodwill gesture helps the countries to share happiness and celebrations with each other.
