Bengaluru: India’s limited-over skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be seen in action as skipper after a three-month break as Indian selectors announced their squad on Sunday for the upcoming T20 International and ODI series against South Africa, starting October 2.
Dhoni will lead the Indian cricket team for both T20 International and ODIs series, Anurag Thakur, BCCI Secy said.
Dhoni wielded the willow in a charity game two days back at the Oval in London and scored 38 runs in a winning cause.
India’s last limited-over series was against Zimbabwe where a second string side was selected to play under Ajinkya Rahane with as many as seven first team players being rested.
India will play 3 T20s, 5 ODIs and 4 Tests against South Africa.
T20 Squad: Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Ajinkya Rahane, MS Dhoni, Stuart Binny, Ambati Rayudu, R Ashwin, Akshar Patel, Harbhajan Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohit Sharma, Amit Mishra and S Aravind.
ODI Squad: MS Dhoni, Shikhar Dhawan,Rohit Sharma,Virat Kohli, Ambati Rayadu, Suresh Raina, Ajinkya Rahane, Stuart Binny, R Ashwin, Akshar Patel, Gurkeerat Mann, Amit Mishra, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohit Sharma and Umesh Yadav.
