Haryanvi artist attempts suicide

New Delhi, Sep 4 (PTI) Distressed over a case filedagainst her, a Hariyanvi entertainment artist today attemptedsuicide in southwest Delhi’s Najafgarh area. Sapna was upset over the case filed against her at GurgaonSector 29 police station in July under the SC and ST Act forinsulting Dalits in one of her songs, said a senior policeofficer. In a seven-page suicide note, she alleged that SatpalKunwar, who had filed the complaint against her, sent her"humiliating" messages on Facebook and WhatsApp, he said. She apologised for the song but the harassment continued,the officer said quoting the suicide note. The woman consumed rat poison today and was rushed to ahospital, where she is undergoing treatment, said the officer. A probe is on in the matter. PTI SLB GVS ZMNGVS
