American University at Kabul is under attack as unidentified gunmen stormed the university building. Ahmad Mukhtar told BBC that he was just 100 meters away from the university main gate when he heard an intensive explosion and several shots. He added that he also heard students shouting.
Police also confirmed the event of gunfire and blast. According to a source, many students and teachers are trapped inside the university campus.
Shokrullah Bigzaad, tweeted the situation and said: “Many people got stuck at the in American University Kabul”. Currently, military personnel is responding to the well-armed attackers.
Reports regarding the casualties are not confirmed but a local reported high numbers of casualties.
