Gold bars dollars seized at airport

Kolkata, Sep 3 (PTI) Three gold bars weighing just over akilo and valued approximately at Rs 39 lakh, was seized from apassenger from Dubai at the Netaji Subhas Chandra BoseInternational airport here today. The passenger, who hails from Thane in Maharashtra, hadalighted from Emirates Airlines flight from Dubai, a Customsofficial said. The gold worth Rs 38,59,916 was seized by airintelligence unit(AIU) of Kolkata Customs. In another incident, AIU seized 9500 USD valued at Rs6,27,000 from another passenger. The passenger, who is a resident of Behala in thecity, was travelling to Bangkok by Tashi Airlines, theofficial said. PTI COR KKBSA
