Firms to be held accountable if staffers observe namaz in parks: Noida Police

In, a controversial move, the Uttar Pradesh Police has asked companies in Noida’s industrial hub to ensure that their employees don’t offer namaz in public parks, even on Fridays.

Sector 58 police station issued a notice saying that the companies will be held accountable if the order is violated. The notice also states that the administration has not given any permission to hold any kind of religious activity, wherein offering Friday prayers, in the park in Sector 58.

“Few people had asked for permission for religious prayers in a park in Sec 58. In spite of no permission granted from city magistrate office people congregated. The companies in the area were informed about it. The info is not specific to any particular religion, “said Ajay Pal, SSP, Noida told ANI.

They have been asked to offer Friday prayers during work hours in mosques, idgahs or inside the premises of the company.
