Fake claims attached to PM Modi’s picture; here’s the truth

A picture is making rounds on social media in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is seen in the spotlight surrounded by people of different countries.

The text on the picture read: “200 साल तक हमे गुलाम बनाने वाले ब्रिटेन में कल 53 देशो के अध्यक्षो के बीच मोदी महा अध्यक्ष थे”

(Translation: Modi in the middle of the heads of 53 countries in Britain, that ruled us for 200 years)

Several users on Facebook shared the picture which was further shared.

FACT CHECK

When NewsMobile came across the picture, we fact-checked it and found that the text on the picture is misleading.

According to the claim, the picture was taken in Britain, but when we put the picture through Reverse Image Search, we found that it viral picture with PM Modi was taken in Davos in 2018 while interacting with the top global CEOs, at the International Business Council event.

The above picture was taken out from the Press Information bureau’s official website. 

When we dug through the information of the picture, it was clear that the picture was not clicked Britain and the other people in the picture are not the leaders of 53 countries, but they are CEOs of top global firms.

Hence, the claim attached to a viral picture is FAKE.
