A post is being shared on social media claiming that veteran artist Arvind Trivedi, who played Ravana in Ramanand Sagar’s blockbuster TV serial ‘Ramayan’ has passed away.

FACT CHECK
We fact-checked the viral post and found out that it is fake.
We ran a search and found a report by TOI dated May 5, 2021. “Ramayan’s Sunil Lahri quashes rumours of ‘Ravan’ Arvind Trivedi’s death; requests those spreading fake news to stop,” the headline of the article read.
According to the report, Sunil Lahri, who played the role of Laxman in the TV series Ramayan, refuted the viral claim in an Instagram post.
“Aajkal Koi Na Koi Buri Khabar sunane Ko milati Hai carona ki vajah se, Upar Se Arvind Trivedi ji (Ravan) ki jhuthi khabar, Meri Prathna Hai jhuthi afwah failane Walon se kripya Karke Is Tarah ki khabar na failaye… Bhagwan ki Daya se Arvind ji theek hain aur Prathna Karta Hun Ki Bhagwan unhen sadaiv Swasth rakhen,” he posted.
(Translation: These days, due to Covid-19, we keep hearing bad news, but the news of Arvind Trivedi Ji’s demise is false. It’s my request to those who are spreading fake news to stop. With God’s mercy, Arvind Ji is fine. I pray for his healthy life)
We also found a Facebook post by Arvind Trivedi’s nephew, Kaustub Trivedi, who also rubbished the viral claim.
“It’s fake last year on 3rd may also this news was there he is good and safe. Please don’t spread,” he posted on Facebook.
The same claim was debunked by NewsMobile in May 2020 also after it went viral on social media.

Hence, from the above fact check it is clear that Arvind Trivedi is well and the viral claim is fake.

Veteran actor Arvind Trivedi, who played the role of Ravan in Ramanand Sagar’s 1987 iconic TV series Ramayan, passed away at the age of 82 on October 5, 2021. Trivedi was suffering from age-related illnesses and he suffered a heart attack, that led to multi-organ failure.
