Face Mask Mandatory In Delhi; ₹500 Fine On Violation

Date:

New Delhi: Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on Wednesday decided to mandate the wearing of face masks again in the national capital amid the spike in COVID cases.

According to reports, DDMA has also imposed a fine of ₹500 on the violators of the guidelines.

The decision comes in the backdrop of a statement made by Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia, on Tuesday where he said that they are not planning to impose fines on people not wearing masks.

Earlier this week, the UP government also decided to mandate the wearing of masks in six districts including Lucknow, Bhagpat, Meerut, Gautam Budh Nagar, Hapur, and Ghaziabad.

In the wake of the recent spike in cases, Haryana Government also decided to mandate face masks in Gurugram, Faridabad, Jhajjar, and Sonipat.
