New York: Eminem apologized to his mother, Debbie Mathers on Mother’s Day by releasing a video directed by Spike Lee.
The video for ‘Headlights’, shows Debbie Mathers being turned down by her son for visits, turning to drugs and living a life of loneliness and pain. It is an apology for all the hateful lyrics about her and the repercussions she had to face.
Many of Eminem’s songs are about his troubled relationship with his mother. In the lyrics of ‘Headlights’, he mention his song ‘Cleaning out My Closet’ and thinks maybe we went too far on many occasions.
The video ends with Eminem forgiving her with a hug.
