Elephant and its calf found dead

Baripada (Odisha), Sep 11 (PTI) The carcasses of a femaleelephant and its calf were found in a paddy field near Neyuntivillage in Mayurbhanj district, officials said today. Forest officials rushed to the spot, which falls underGudugudia Forest Range, to ascertain the cause of death of theanimals after the carcasses were spotted yesterday. The cause of death could be ascertained after properinquiry, Karanjia DFO PK Behera said. According to the villagers, the female elephant alongwith its calf had strayed from a nearby forest and entered thevillage on Friday. PTI COR SKN PRBSA
