Elderly woman beaten to death, husband injured in attack

Machilipatnam (AP), Aug 31 (PTI) A 75-year-old womandied and her husband was injured when they were attacked byunidentified persons here in Krishna district today. According to police, the elderly couple was attackedat around 1 pm when they were sleeping in their house. Twounknown persons, armed with sticks, entered their house anddemanded money. When they refused to part with money, the duo attackedthem with sticks, killing the woman on the spot and severelyinjuring her husband, said Sub-Inspector Habeeb Basha. The deceased was identified as K Dhana Lakshmi (75),while her husband K Panduranga Rao was admitted to DistrictGovernment Hospital, said police. PTI CORRSY
