Easy and delicious non fire cooking for children to try during summer holidays

Summer holidays are already mid way. And if kids are not on summer trips with their family, it is quite boring to be home all day. The weather isn’t conducive enough for outdoors either, except during the evening and mornings.


So, what does one do to use this time purposefully and make it interesting at the same time. How about turning Master Chefs in the comfort of your houses! Cook up these non-fire food dishes and let your stomach relish the goodies!

So, get set go…. it’s time for yummy-dom!

Melt in your mouth Pizza Bites

Ingredients:
Round shaped bread slices – 6

Sauce –
Garlic cloves: 1 or 2
Extra virgin olive oil: 1 tbsp
Spring onions finely chopped: 2
Basil leaves: 1/4 cup
Tomato: 1
Sliced olives: 2 tbsp
Cheese slice: 6

Method:
Peel the garlic and smash it. Place it in a bowl and mix with olive oil. Add the chopped spring onions. Add the torn basil leaves to the bowl. Chop the tomatoes finely and add to the bowl. Add pepper powder and sliced olives and mix all the ingredients in the bowl. Blend well.
Leave the mixture in the bowl for 5 minutes. Add salt to taste.

Now take the bread rounds and spread the mixture evenly. Sprinkle grated cheese and take a ig bite of the delicious pizza.

Biscuit Cake

Ingredients:
Chocolate Marie biscuits- 10
Milk – 1/2 cup
Sugar- 5 to 6 tbsp
Butter 2 tbsp

Method:
Crush the Marie biscuits in a mixer. Now take a deep bowl and add the contents into it. Add milk, sugar and butter and whisk all the contents well. Pour this whisked mixture in a baking tray. Set it properly. Place the tray in the freezer for about 20 to 25 minutes. Once done, transfer the contents into the refrigerator section and cool it for an hour.
Your lip smacking dessert is ready to be eaten.

Banana Peanut Butter Smoothie

Ingredients:
Milk: 1/2 cup
Ripe banana: 1
Peanut butter: 2 levelled tsp
Ice cubes: 2
Method:
Place all the above ingredients in a blender and blend till the contents become smooth
Serve chilled

Mango Cream Crusty

Ingredients:
Ripe mango: 1 large
Bread slices: 4
Cream cheese: 3 tbsp
Red onion sliced thin: ½
A few lettuce leaves
Olive oil: 1 tsp
Lemon juiced: 1/2 tsp
Freshly powdered black pepper
Salt to taste

Method:
Slice the mango into cubes and place it in deep bowl. Add lemon juice, olive oil, salt and finely powdered pepper and mix gently. Place a bread slice on a dry surface and spread cream cheese on each slice. Spread mango cubes on top of the cheese spread and layer onions and lettuce leaves. Add black pepper and your sandwich is ready.

Peanut Butter Treats

Ingredients:
Chunky peanut butter: 1/2 cup
Honey: 1/4 cup
Vanilla extract: 1/2 tsp
Dry milk powder: 1/2 cup
Oats: 1/2 cup
Cracker crumbs: 2 tbsp

Method:
In a small bowl combine peanut butter, honey and the vanilla extract. Stir together the milk powder, oats and the cracker crumbs. Shape the mixture into balls, cover and refrigerate before serving.
