Dawood Ibrahim critical in Karachi hospital after heart attack

Date:

New Delhi: Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim was reportedly rushed to a hospital in Karachi on Friday after he had suffered a massive heart attack.

Citing sources, the CNN News18 reported that his condition is critical.

However, his close aide Chota Shakeel has dismissed Dawood’s latest health condition as rumours, saying that he was was perfectly fine, the report said.

Reportedly, Dawood was last spotted on April 19 when he had attended a dinner party at his son-in-law’s residence in Karachi, the report said citing intelligence agencies.

The 61-year-old is wanted in India for organising the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts in which 257 were killed and 717 injured.

Citing Indian intelligence sources, the report said Pakistan deliberately concealed his health condition because it wanted to keep his presence in the country a secret.

They believe there would be no official announcement in case he, the report said.

Dawood fled to Dubai in the 1980s after the Mumbai Police crackdown on the underworld.
