New Delhi: The Government on Saturday announced several Secretary-level appointments, including that of Gauri Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment, as Secretary (Coordination & Public Grievances), Cabinet Secretariat.
Kumar, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1979 batch, will succeed S B Agnihotri, IAS.
An official press release said the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) had also approved the appointment of Shankar Agarwal, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development, as Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment vice Kumar, on her relinquishing the charge of the post.
Madhusudhan Prasad, IAS, Special Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry will take Agarwal’s place as Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development.
Lov Verma, IAS, Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in the vacancy of Stuti Narayan Kacker, IAS (Retired).
Anita Agnihotri, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment vice Mr. Sudhir Bhargava, IAS.
Nandita Chatterjee, IAS, Member Secretary, National Commission for Women, Ministry of Women and Child Development has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation vice Agnihotri, on her relinquishing the charge of the post.
Bhanu Pratap Sharma, IAS, Establishment Officer and Special Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, will succeed Mr Verma as Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare.
Dinesh Kumar Mittal, IAS (Retired) has been appointed as Mission Director, Direct Benefits Transfer Scheme for a period of three months from the date of his assuming charge, the release added.
